Shield Security

Shield Security has been operating for over 19 years and 1000 guards in Gaborone, employs some 800 guards and has a client list that includes the Botswana Government, Botswana Insurance, First National Bank, Barclays Bank and the major Property Managers. Shield Security is a locally based company with British and Batswana shareholders and directors. It is a founder member of the Security Association of Botswana and as such plays a prominent role in the raising of standards throughout the industry.

Shield Security provides security services throughout Botswana to government, parastatal and private companies.

Operations are controlled from an Operations Room in the Gaborone International Commerce Park that is manned on a 24 hour basis. The Operations Room has radio communication with patrolling supervisors and large sites. Where necessary we provide a back up response team.

Shield Security supplies and installs electronic alarms, monitors those alarms and provides a response service.

Shield Security supplies and installs CCTV cameras and DVD recorders for monitoring sites and the innovative ADPRO Fast Tx and "Fast Trace" and "Tele-eye" system that allows for state of the art surveillance and offsite monitoring of clients' sites

Supervision. Each site is visited twice by day and twice by night at irregular intervals by Shield supervisors. This ensures guards are alert and any absences are quickly picked up

Monthly Inspection Reports . We submit reports on incidents at the time of the incident and further reports as required by a client; this can include a monthly report on fire equipment. Clients thus have a written record of the security situation.

Loss Control and Undercover Operatives . We specialize in covert operations and supply loss control advice, both physical and electronic, and deploy undercover agents. This is a very valuable tool for an employer in identifying fraud and theft.

Electronic Patrol Monitoring . We monitor the movements of our supervisors electronically by use of the Mag-Touch and this enables a client to be able to monitor guard movements at night with minimum inconvenience.
